Job Description
The Construction Services Technician is responsible for promoting a high level of customer satisfaction through assistance in planning and installation of gas utilities. Working in a team environment you will be responsible for assisting in the design and coordination with the Customer Project Coordinator for the selection of proper materials for new construction maintenance and replacement of damaged Company facilities. This role works with a variety of internal and external stakeholders on construction related issues. Interacts and is a member of a selfdirected collaborative and interdependent team.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Performs administrative duties as assigned such as processing construction contracts and payments managing construction email and physical mail ordering and managing office supplies duties may vary by office.
  • Responsible for updating of new construction and maintenance jobs installation of meters and closing out of jobs on the various computer systems and updating required departments.
  • Responsible for answering construction calls and providing guidance to customers and contractors regarding work timing and any constraints.
  • Prepares materials lists and material requisitions for prepared jobs including assigning the proper account numbers to the various material items. Prepares property removal notices. May use estimating program to determine material lists.
  • May secure necessary permits and locates for construction of facilities traffic and building.
  • Prepares job packets for new gas line extensions and/or rebuilding of existing facilities in accordance with Company construction standards and methods.
  • May perform some scheduling for small crews.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School GED or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of one 1 year of experience in a natural gas or electric distribution related field.
  • Requires demonstrated ability to plan organize and coordinate multiple projects and to work effectively with all parties involved.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and ability to learn computer applications.
  • Specialized jobrelated training in gas and electric design map reading and familiarity with applicable codes tariffs and requirements preferred.
  • Prior applied experience with CC&B Maximo GIS.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures is preferred.

Construction Services Technician II:

  • All of the requirements of a Construction Services Technician I plus:
  • Three 3 years plus applied and demonstrated consistent performance/experience working with Avista contractors consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of contributing as a team member and successfully building relationships both internal and external.
  • Display competent knowledge of the Construction Service Technician process and must be able to complete complex work assignments.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures is preferred.
  • Prior applied experience with CC&B Maximo GIS.

Other combinations of education/experience may be considered.

Construction Services Technician I Starting Range: $24.31  $31.11 per hour; Full Range: $24.31  $37.92 per hour NonExempt; ML 5
Construction Services Technician II Starting Range: $27.67 $35.56 per hour; Full Range: $27.67 $43.45 per hour NonExempt; ML 6
