Position Summary
The Civil Engineering Department at Oregon Tech invites applications for a nontenure track Instructor with a multidisciplinary background in civil engineering. The start date is September 2021. The successful candidate will be expected to teach approximately three or four fundamental engineering courses per term from freshman through graduate level. The Department maintains modern laboratories that support geotechnical transportation structural and water resources education and research. Handson learning is a hallmark of an Oregon Tech education and the newly renovated labs allow for exploration using stateoftheart equipment. Job duties are primarily instructional so a focus on highquality instruction is important. Civil faculty are also expected to maintain highquality professional development and service to the profession which includes but is not limited to externally funded collaborative research. Faculty instruction is well supported with disciplinespecific software an excellent IT department a dedicated civil lab technician and Canvas as the learning management system. Our civil engineering student body of 120 students is curious and enthusiastic in the classroom and looks forward to your engaging instruction. Preferred Qualifications
An earned doctoral degree in civil engineering or a closely related field. Prior industry or teaching experience. Eligible for licensure as a professional engineer.
