Job Description
For over 100 years Capital Contractors has been a leader in the steel fabrication for bridge and infrastructure projects throughout the Midwest Plains and Rocky Mountain States. As a Welder you will make a direct impact on the production of fabricated steel for bridges. You will work on a small team where welding is an integral part of the fabrication process providing you diversity and an active lifestyle. You will be offered support stability and an opportunity to grow with Capital Contractors. Wewill provide inhouse training for all AWS D1.5 weld procedures and qualifications.
Interpret blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and weld procedures
Use appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements and set up components for welding according to specifications
Ability to weld components using manual or semiautomatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical horizontal or overhead)
Visually inspect welded surfaces
Demonstrate the highest level of safety standards and hold others accountable for upholding best safety practices
A background or degree in welding and ability to pass a preemployment drug screen is required. Experience in steel fabrication of bridge Ibeams and connection parts is preferred (stick welds fluxcore welds etc. but is not required.
