Faculty Fulltime tenure track position 9 months

Position Summary

McHenry County College seeks a fulltime tenuretrack faulty instructor for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program and act as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator. In addition to classroom/laboratory instruction the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (FWC) develops coordinates and monitors programming related to student field work experiences.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Including but are not limited to:

  • Teach assigned courses per semester; daytime and/or evening as needed
  • Assessment of student learning
  • Enhance and diversify fieldwork sites
  • Develop curriculum to enhance programming of Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Maintenance of full accreditation status through ACOTE
  • General involvement as a faculty member in participatory College governance advisement and recruitment of students and college committees
  • Be informed of activities at the State level and keep apprised of external agency regulations and changes to regulations that directly impact the program
  • Work cooperatively within the department the division and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence
  • Work with colleagues/partners to facilitate articulation of appropriate courses within those institutions
  • Continue professional development in area of expertise and in teaching/learning strategies
  • Assist in educating the public about the program through college sponsored activities
  • Support and participate in continuous quality improvement

Required Qualifications

  • Current licensure in Illinois and certified as an Occupational Therapist or an Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice experience
  • Minimum of a baccalaureate degree awarded through an accredited institution by a USDErecognized institutional accrediting agency
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth
  • Willingness to use educational technology
  • Commitment to the mission of the community college and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds and learning styles
