The Advanced Practice Provider will serve in a fulltime role to provide care to patients on the Ortho Trauma service at the SUNY Upstate Downtown campus. There will be a component of FirstAssisting on surgical cases and procedures. Responsibilities include providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care assessing & evaluating patients ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies arranging for referrals testing consultation & therapeutic services and maintaining outstanding relationships with families referring physicians & all members of the health care team.
NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Masters Degree as a Nurse Practitioner with Registered Nurse first Assist (RNFA) or Physician Assistant & current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required. Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.
CPRBLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
12 years orthopedic surgery experience preferred.
Monday thru Friday Days with a rotation into weekends and holidays.
