Job Description

Summary

Reporting to the Chief Data and AI Officer the Director Data Governance ensures that firmcritical data is consistently defined and accessible. The incumbent will create and manage systems for data organization and compliance with regulations. This role involves developing strategies to maintain data quality privacy and security and improving data literacy within the organization. The Director resolves data issues manages risks and collaborates with senior leaders to align data governance with firm goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define crossfunctional definitions of businesscritical data and metrics aligning key stakeholders across the firm with global shared and local definitions and applying variation where appropriate for subsets of key terms.
  • Oversee the creation maintenance and implementation of metadata standards and practices to ensure consistency and accessibility of data assets.
  • Develop and manage a data catalog system to facilitate data discovery data lineage tracking and efficient data usage across the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to datarelated regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Design and execute a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with the firms strategic objectives.
  • Enforce enterprise data governance policies standards and processes to ensure data integrity privacy and security. Establish firmspecific policies and standards as needed
  • Lead initiatives to monitor assess and improve data quality and accuracy across all business units.
  • Assist in roadmap and planning activities to size and scope the level of effort for activities.
  • Resolve datarelated issues such as discrepancies in data quality and ensure data is a reliable asset across the organization.
  • Construct data governance operating models with domain representation for key subject areas and an interaction model to create enterprisewide awareness and alignment.
  • Align the data governance roadmap and activities to the process and analytics initiatives to ensure a cohesive release in delivering new processes or analytics in partnership with clear concise and aligned definitions.
  • Identify and mitigate datarelated risks ensuring that data governance practices support the organizations risk management framework.
  • Collaborate with department leaders program leads and senior leadership for planning and communicating timelines outcomes and budgets and identifying risk and opportunities.
  • May hire develop and supervise others and conduct performance reviews.

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors including but not limited to the relevant market skills experience and education of the selected candidate. If an estimated salary range for this role is available it will be provided in our Target Salary Range section.
