  • Estimated Compensation: $70000 $75000 yearly (negotiable).
  • Type of Employment: 40 hours per week.
  • Period of Performance: 23 June 2025 31 May 2027 (Option to Extend Services)

Working Hours
Work will be completed remotely and is scheduled generally from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time Monday through Friday. However there may be times when employees must work outside of duty hours and/or on weekends to support specific tasks. Although the schedule may have to be flexible it will not exceed 40 hours per week. Temporary alternate work locations may be assigned.

Summary of Duties
The Research Psychologist will support the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicines Aeromedical Operational and Clinical Psychology Division (USAFSAM/FESP) in evaluating the impacts of Integrated Operational Support (IOS) services on biopsychosocial processes associated with optimal functioning for promoting resilience among Airmen and Guardians. Measuring outcomes is an essential aspect of evidencebased program development and evaluation. Currently there is no standard method for evaluating the outcomes of IOS teams interventions. Implementing such a process can enhance the capabilities of IOS teams in supporting individuals and commanders to ensure Airmen and Guardian readiness.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • A minimum of a masters degree specializing in Research Psychology ideally in fields such as IndustrialOrganizational or Applied Social Psychology.
  • Possesses at least five 5 years of experience in database development data gathering and data organization to support a wide range of analytical procedures research report writing and the development of actionable recommendations to enhance human performance and behavioral science research.
  • Have at least five 5 years of experience developing products that present research outcomes (e.g. statistical results and interpretations) including professional presentations peerreviewed publications and/or technical reports.
  • Have at least five 5 years of experience designing and conducting statistical data analysis using software such as JMP SPSS or R.
  • Signed a NonDisclosure Agreement (NDA) upon hire that protects access to confidential proprietary and/or sensitive information.

Desired Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree specializing in Research Psychology ideally in fields of Industrial
  • Organizational or Applied Social Psychology.
  • A strong background in program evaluation including designing implementing and analyzing data to assess program effectiveness.
  • Experience with human performance and behavioral science research within the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Experience developing and administering comprehensive validated psychological instruments via mobile and webbased capabilities.
  • Experience presenting statistical results at peerreviewed national forums including the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology the American Psychological Association and the Aerospace Medicine Association.
  • Experience as an author of peerreviewed publications or official USAF/DoD technical reports in behavioral science particularly in the areas of human performance and behavioral science research.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and of a comprehensive study protocol including hypotheses methodologies data collection strategies and overall statistical analysis of study data in consultation with USAFSAM/FESP professional staff.
  • Provide customer leadership conduct a relevant scientific literature review and perform data analyses while also participating in related discussions with USAFSAM/FESP staff.
  • Confer with and advise USAFSAM/FESP professional staff on optimal statistical approaches for analyzing study data.
  • Perform statistical analyses of study data using descriptive and inferential statistical procedures.
  • Minimize any threats to the validity of statistical products or online data repositories and maintain the data in a secure manner consistent with IRB protocols and safeguards.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of screening data the contents of technical reports and the presentation of data deemed sensitive and not releasable to the general public. The contractor employee shall complete the appropriate IRB paperwork and training requirements for conducting research.
  • Prepare reports of scientific/statistical results in support of scientific literature publication in coordination with USAFSAM/FESP and 711 HPW staff.
    • The number of professional presentations reports and papers shall be verified based on the relevance of research findings as they become available.
  • Travel to provide professional support conduct customer consultations and deliver research presentations at leadership meetings and professional conferences.
  • Collaborate with USAFSAM/FESP personnel to address personal limitations on travel scheduling.
  • Maintain effective communication with project personnel to facilitate teamwork; adhere to strict confidentiality and classification requirements in all forms of communication.
  • Be responsible for data management and coordinating processes with project team members which shall include acquisition input maintenance electronic format products and storage of all project data.
  • Assist staff in collecting assessment data maintaining it and downloading it into the project database.
  • Provide project operations support including assistance with USAFSAM/FES research activities and the acquisition of data to support project goals and objectives.
  • Arrange lead oversee and participate in research team meetings (including leading a weekly meeting) as needed to ensure effective communication among research team members related to achieving project research goals.
    • If there is an unexpected interruption in research capabilities and/or reduction in workload the contractor employee(s) shall support research endeavors in support of additional USAFSAM/FESPrelated investigations as required.
