Job Details:

The College of Health Professions at Mercer University invites applications for a fulltime faculty member with a focus in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. This is a 12month nontenure track position.


The Department of Physician Assistant Studies is in a progressive and innovative College that emphasizes evidencebased and integrative approaches to health and collaboration with the other programs in the College (Physical Therapy Public Health Clinical Psychology Athletic Training and Kinesiology).

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include graduate student classroom and laboratory instruction and evaluation; advisement and mentoring of students; small group instruction; committee involvement; admissions activities; professional organization engagement; and scholarly activities to include grants publications and presentations. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and community service. As a faculty member at Mercer University you can expect to be immersed into a community of scholars who are committed to fostering excellence.

Qualifications:

A graduate of an accredited masters degree physician assistant program with a current NCCPA certification and immediate eligibility for physician assistant licensure in Georgia or a graduate of an accredited medical school with current licensure as an allopathic or osteopathic physician in Georgia and certified by an ABMS or AOAapproved specialty board. Clinical experience as a practicing PA DO or MD required. Prior teaching experience and a record of peerreviewed scholarly activity preferred. Rank commensurate with academic experience.
