About the role
Freeths national and awardwinning Dispute Resolution team comprises over 100 lawyers across our 13 national offices. The national Dispute Resolution team was awarded UK Litigation Team of the Year by The Lawyer Awards 2020 and the equivalent award by The British Legal Awards 2020 for taking on a major High Court group action against the Post Office which exposed one of the largest miscarriages of justice in British legal history.
The Milton Keynes DR team enjoys a formidable reputation both locally and nationally. The quality of the teams client base is impressive and the team is proud to count a number of the regions substantial businesses as clients as well as acting for a wide range of clients based across the UK and internationally including several householdname corporates.
The Milton Keynes team (comprising 8 Property Litigation and CDR solicitors a trainee solicitor and a legal assistant) is headed by Simon Hobbs. Simon is Deputy Head of DR nationwide is ranked as a Leading Individual in Chambers & Partners 2024 edition) and is listed as a Recommended Lawyer in The Legaledition).
There is now a fantastic opportunity for a circa 3 7 PQE Property Litigation lawyer to join the team and advance their own career.
Key Responsibilities
The teams specialisms and breadth of work is wide and you would be involved working alongside more senior members of the team and on your own matters in high value and complex disputes/projects. The teams typical work includes:
All aspects of commercial landlord and tenant matters
Development disputes
Disputes relating to land including easements restrictive covenants and rights to light
Your skills and qualifications
The team has a number of dedicated Property litigators so whilst obviously helpful detailed knowledge of Property litigation is not essential.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious hardworking and selfmotivated lawyer who can demonstrate excellent legal capability with strong attention to detail.
You will be adaptable organised enthusiastic and eager to learn with at least 3 years litigation experience and an interest in business development. In return we offer a great salary competitive benefits and excellent training and career prospects.
