Job Description
The main purpose of this position is to specialize in one or more areas of new application / database development. The Developer will be responsible for analyzing programming documenting debugging and testing applications in the development environment.
Responsibilities
- Developes new products and support applications already in production.
- Adhere to predefined programming standards set by Application Architects and Develops recommendations regarding further definition of development standards and application architecture principles.
- Creates documentation using established PMO standards.
- Use source control systems such as VSS CVS TFS.
- Performs unit testing and assists in user testing of programming modifications.
- Leads and facilitates design sessions and code walkthroughs and mentor Analysts on technical and functional aspects of the applications.
- Provides technical estimates.
- Addresses system problems during off hours with the guidance from other members of the development staff as needed.
- Attends staff and departmental meetings providing status updates to Supervisor and Manager.
- Develops and maintains effective partnerships with product development and business teams in order to understand and anticipate their needs the business environment other challenges and opportunities.
- Maintains technical knowledge through training or other measures.
Qualifications
- 5 years of proven success as a database developer and/or DBA required.
- 5 years years proven technical experience with SQL Transactional SQL DTS Data Modeling SQL Server Oracle 10G SQL Server DBA Stored Procedures RDBMS index tuning and query optimization.
Education
- Bachelors degree in MIS Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
