Position Highlights
Spencer Hospital is a rural hospitallocated in northwest Iowa employing over 500 employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers if accepted are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
Spencer Hospital Surgery Center performs amultitude of specialties including: general orthopedics ophthalmology urology ENT and endoscopy averaging 550 surgeries per month. Surgery business hours are MonFri with minimal on call weekend and holiday rotations.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for handling the instruments supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure
- Maintain the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and to be constantly vigilant in the maintenance of the sterile field
- Responsible for procedures related to cleaning sterilizing and assemble of equipment supplies and instruments for use in medical and surgical interventions
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved Surgical Tech program. Certification preferred
- Previous surgical tech experiences performing multiple different specialties preferred.
- Must have excellent communication skills caring attitude and be a team player
- In addition must be able to multitask and triage items concurrently
Schedule:
- 60 or 70 hours a pay period
- 10 hour shifts MonFri from 6:30a to 5p
- 72 hours a pay period
- 9 hour shifts MonFriday 6:30a to 4p
- Oncall nights and weekends rotation
- The schedule may fluctuate based upon needs of the department
