Job Description
Fortinet has an exciting opportunity for you to join our AntiVirus (AV) Analyst team in Burnaby.Equipped with the skills and knowledge you acquired through antimalware training you will analyze the behaviors and code of malicious software and develop algorithms to detect them.
This is an opportunity to build your malware knowledge and reverse engineer different types of malware ransomware network worms Trojans backdoors rootkits file infectors etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Virus/malware replication and analysis in secured environment
- Handle malware threat inquiries and analyze submissions of virus/malware files
- Develop virus/malware detection algorithms in proprietary description language
- Write descriptions of virus/malware for publication on Fortinets website
- Develop programs/scripts for virus/malware analysis and replication
Job Skills Required:
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience
- Experience and understanding of software programming
- Experience and understanding of Intel x86 assembly language is an asset
- Experience with scripting languages (Python Perl JavaScript VBS Linux Shell) is an asset
- Fast learner with a good attitude
- Proven analytical and problemsolving skills
- Empowered to make a difference in network security
Educational Requirements:
- Diploma of Technology or Bachelors of Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering

The Canada base salary range for this fulltime position is expected to be between $92000 $100000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market job type and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidates subject knowledge skill level qualifications and experience.
