Job Description
Job Type: Contract
Description: Lourdes University invites applicants for adjunct faculty in the Department of Mathematics. In particular we seek an engaging instructor to teach college algebra precalculus and/or statistics.
Essential Functions:
Deliver inperson instruction that ensures the curriculum design is consistent with best practices and addresses the needs of various programs.
Present a dynamic classroom presence.
Evaluate student work & provide feedback in a timely manner.
Reply to student emails in a timely manner.
Respond to institutional requests in a timely manner.
Assist with assessment as needed by the department.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work with traditional students as well as adult learners.
Evidence of excellence in teaching and/or demonstrated experience in Mathematics in a professional role
Commitment to working with a diverse student faculty and staff population.
Ability to use educational technology and software.
Qualifications:
Masters degree or higher in Mathematics; or a masters degree or higher in a related field with 18 hours of graduate coursework in Mathematics; or ABD in Mathematics with active progress toward degree completion and at least 36 credit hours of graduate course work in Mathematics.
Evidence of effective teaching at the college level a plus.
