About the Role:

Gartner is seeking a technically adept and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer with keen attention to detail. This role will focus on the design development and maintenance of applications supporting Clevel conferences leveraging a tech stack primarily consisting of React and Ruby. The ideal candidate should be a versatile handson engineer with a strong foundation in ObjectOriented Programming (OOP) using Java Ruby or .NET and capable of supporting observability and testdriven development/SDET practices.

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate with Conference and Broader IT team members in designing and developing technical solutions that meet business needs with respect to functionality performance scalability and reliability.

• Design build and maintain efficient reusable and reliable frontend and backend code ensuring the best possible performance quality and responsiveness of the applications.

• Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems.

• Proactively identify product/system enhancements that may improve tool appeal process flow and overall functionality and performance.

• Lead the development of maintenance and enhancement work items including performance tuning testing refactoring usability and automation.

• Champion and ensure adherence to coding (through reviews) compliance and security standards including documenting functionality and recovery solutions.

• Support operations by troubleshooting issues and ensuring system reliability and performance through monitoring tools like Splunk and Dynatrace.

• Mentor junior and midlevel developers fostering a culture of learning and growth.

What You Will Need:

• Strong problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail and accountability.

• A desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

Must Have:

• BS in Computer Science related fields or equivalent IT experience.

• 4 years of experience in software development.

• Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner to IT Leaders and business stakeholders

• Ability to work and collaborate with a team across geographies.

• Strong Knowledge of agile methodologies and practices

• Strong foundation in ObjectOriented Programming using Java Ruby or .NET.

• Proficiency in Java or Ruby on Rails JavaScript React PostgreSQL (Relational DB) and RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with React Native.

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to assist with operational support of BusinessCritical apps.

• Experience with AWS DevOps and CI/CD practices.

• Experience in observability and testdriven development/SDET practices.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with microservices & containerization like Docker and Kubernetes.
