Position Summary:
The Finishing Technician is responsible for operating various types of finishing equipment including perfect binders saddle stitchers folders and cutters.
Overall Responsibilities:
Runs product through binding equipment to generate a finished bound book
Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks according to specifications accurately and in a timely fashion
Responsible for performing documented quality checks on bound product
Responsible for maintaining bindery output quality
Ensures that bindery area is neat and clean to provide a professional and safe working environment
Job Requirements:
Hands on experience of perfect binders and saddle stitchers a plus
Must be mechanically inclined
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain accurate and detailed production counts
Practical Mathematical skills
Equipment Utilized:
BQ470 Perfect Binders
BQ270 Perfect Binders
Muller Martini Sigma Perfect Binder
Horizon Saddle Stitchers
Flat cutter and 3 knife trimmer
Paper folder
Spiral binding equipment (coil and punch)
Education:
Requires a high school diploma or GED
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk sit stoop
kneel and crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
