Job Description
To provide the kind of instructional guidance and support to teachers and students in a balanced literacy learning environment that will enable students to master the reading skills appropriate to age grade level and individual capacity. Performance Responsibilities:Coordinate district literacy assessment program and administration scheduleProvide support to teachers through classroom modeling of best practice in a balanced literacy approach to the teaching of reading and writingSupport teachers in administering assessments and analyzing data to determine the reading abilities of all students identify those needing special help and monitor student progressAssist classroom teachers in planning and administering tiered reading interventions to atrisk studentsSupport students through direct instruction/interventions and/or consultation with classroom teachersRecommend use of varied instructional reading/language arts materials Assist in professional development offerings for staff in area of reading/language artsInterpret as appropriate test results and statistical data concerning reading to the administration staff parentsPerform other related duties as assigned by building principal or the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching & LearningFranklin Public Schools is committed to maintaining an environment that is free from discrimination and harassment in accordance with state and federal law including based on age race color religion national origin pregnancy pregnancyrelated status gender identity sexual orientation sexual harassment veteran status political affiliation genetic information and/or disability.
