School of the Incarnation is seeking qualified candidates for a fulltime school counselor for theschool year and beyond. The counselor is a professional member of the school staff who assists the administration in the integration of schoolbased counseling services for the school community. This individual is responsible for sharing the oversight of the cognitive social emotional and behavioral environment of the school by supporting student social and emotional growth and behavior.
Essential Functions
Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the School of the Incarnation
Creates and implements social emotional lessons for a healthy behavioral and academic environment for the development of the whole child.
Supports students individually and in small groups to develop social emotional skills and to address social emotional needs.
Adheres to all Federal and State laws for reporting child abuse neglect and/or endangerment.
Acts as a member of PBIS Team in planning and is instrumental in the implementation of initiatives
Assists in development of student support plans.
Support parents and staff in their roles providing resources to assist them in the care of the social/emotional health of the child.
Communicates effectively with students parents and other professionals.
Participate in faculty meetings collaborative planning meetings retreats school committees and inservice learning opportunities
Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications
Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the school
Masters degree in counseling or related field
Current MSDE school counselor license or valid LCPC license through MD Department of Mental Health
4 years of experience in related field with a growing level of responsibility
Strong organizational and communication skills
Practicing Catholic (preferred)
Pay Range: $Annualized
