Purpose
NewsNation a national media outlet for all Americans. We think theres an unmet need for news that isnt tilted toward one ideology or another walks away from two sidesism to focus on multiple perspectives when examining the issues and considers every community across all 50 states. We are dedicated to a truly allplatform experience: a national cable channel plus a vibrant digital presence.
We are seeking digital content producers who are savvy in collaborating to create digitalfriendly journalism. Duties and expectations of digital content producers vary greatly based on experience. More experienced digital content producers regularly turn original reporting are assigned beats are sent on location for assignments and are expected to pitch original story ideas for example. Other roles are more closely focused on publishing the news of the day maintain audience engagement of the site and converting our onair content into digitalfriendly formats.
Position Description
Update NewsNation digital platforms (website app email social) with breaking news and topical news of the day
Craft compelling headlines teases and social media posts that encourage followers to engage with our journalism
Pitch stories daily and develop multiple ideas off a single news topic that pushes stories forward
Create digitalfirst content and original reporting that accomplishes the NewsNation mission and differentiates our brand from our competitors
Package content that encourages audience engagement to stay on the page longer or view more pages per visit
Use data to inform content decisions
Edit wire and local networkaffiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are met
Clip broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels
Utilize SEO best practices
Salary range: $60000 $75000
Qualifications
3 years working as a digital reporter or producer in a major market or national newsroom. Some roles may require more experience.
Strong news judgement and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal
Experience working with video inside Anvato BitCentral OBS Latakoo a plus
Excellent communicator both oral written
Early morning late night and/or weekend shifts may be required
Bachelors degree in journalism advertising or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and workrelated experience
