Job Summary:The Cook is a back of house position within one of our Food and Beverage outlets. These folks are responsible for preparing the food we serve to our guests. We are seeking individuals with a positive work ethic safe food handling skills and overall strong communication/guest focus.
We hire cooks into three different classification levels based on skill set and previous experience. These classifications are Entry Intermediate and Advanced. Requirements and responsibilities will vary based on which classification you are hired into.
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications for all Cook Positions
Entry Qualifications
Intermediate Qualifications
Advanced Qualifications
Strong communication skills
Ability to work holidays and weekends
Excellent guest service skills
Ability to stand for up to 6 hours
Ability to lift and carry 50lbs
Ability to speak and communicate in English
Previous Food and Beverage experience (Preferred)
California Food Handlers Card
All qualifications listed for Entry plus:
Work off of a preplist to prepare food in accordance with Kirkwood Menus
Line/short order prepand plating
Maintain proper food handling and sanitation through the shift
Ensure proper facility shutdown including: stocking sanitizing equipment cleaning and shut down and proper food storage.
All qualifications listed for intermediate plus:
Minimum 4 years previous cooking experience
Ability to manage a team
Ability to assist with food orders
Intermediatelevel computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Work Schedule:
Must have a flexible work schedule to include holidays and weekends.
Available Opportunities:
We have onmountain and base area positions available. Employees assigned to certain onmountain location must be able to pass a ski/ride test upon hire.

The General Store:A locals favorite! The General Store is a market and deli located inside the Red Cliffs Building. Enjoy a fastpaced environment where you get to know the neighbors while serving up ice cream coffee and fresh made bites!
Monte Wolfes:Located in the Kirkwood Village Monte Wolfes offers breakfast pastries soups salads and sandwiches. From your post look out onto the village square and Chair 11.
Red Cliffs:Our largest spread on the mountain Red Cliffs is a great place to come and grab a bite to eat or BYO Food and relax. Enjoy 180degree views of the mountain from the dining area.
Outback Grill:Located onmountain you must be able to ski or ride at an intermediate level to work at the Outback. Here you will take in all of that Kirkwood POW bounty while serving some of the tastiest burgers around. Firstchair shredheads This is where you will find em!
Timber Creek Cafe: Timber Creek Cafe (or TCs as youll come to call it) is located adjacent to our Ski and Ride School Learning Zone. A great place for families to dine while enjoying a day on the hill; TCs offers up a wide selection of menu items and is central to all of the action!
The Cornice Grill: Smackdab in the center of the Kirkwood Village sits a Big Mountain sports bar known as the Cornice Grill. This outlet is a favorite for aprs ski.
Off The Wall Bar: Located in The Lodge at Kirkwood enjoy views of Kirkwoods famous ridgeline from Thimble Peak to Martin Point. The Wall Bar is a fine dining facility with Kirkwood flair!
The Kirkwood Inn: Located at the entrance to Kirkwood Meadows Drive the Kirkwood Inn is a historic log cabin featuring western style food and atmosphere. A true gem the Inn attracts locals passersthrough and riders alike.
