Maintenance & Operations Summer Labor (Hourly Summer Position) multiple positions
Location:Maintenance and Operations
Starting Salary: $13.75/hr
Purpose Statement
The job of Summer Maintenance Worker is done for the purpose/s of provide a variety of minor maintenance facility cleaning and painting activities to maintain the function safety and aesthetics of facilities. The role primarily focuses on summer maintenance tasks and cleaning tasks.
This Job reports to Assigned Supervisor
Essential Functions
- Assists maintenance workers with projects and daytoday operations as assigned (e.g. transporting and/or securing materials completing specific tasks in areas of painting carpentry HVAC grounds etc. for the purpose of completing projects in a safe efficient manner.
- Cleans a wide variety of facilities and/or grounds areas as assigned for the purpose of preventing damage and/or limiting liability exposure.
- Installs system component parts classroom and office equipment and facility components for the purpose of assisting in site repairs and improvements while area are not being used for education.
- Maintains a variety of grounds playground and athletic areas as assigned (e.g. mowing trimming picking up trash planting weeding etc. for the purpose of assisting in improving the safety functionality and athletics of outdoor areas.
- Participates in meetings and trainings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Performs a variety of routine maintenance activities (e.g. replacing air filters cleaning spraying equipment light fixtures outlets etc. for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames.
- Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Transports a variety of tools equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
Other Functions
- Performs other related duties for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
Skills Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment power and hand tools; adhering to safety practices; and handling hazardous materials.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math including calculations using fractions percents and/or ratios; understand written procedures write routine documents and speak clearly; and understand multistep written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the jobinclude: standard methods materials and tools used in general maintenance and cleaning.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities; collate data; and use jobrelated equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals; work with specific jobrelated data; and utilize jobrelated equipment. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; developing effective working relationships; displaying mechanical aptitude; and working under time constraints.

Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized routines; providing information and/or advising others; operating within a defined budget. There is some opportunity to affect the organizations services.
