Job Description Summary
In support of the Student Affairs Learning Outcomes Student Organizations assists recognized studentled organizations in their efforts to engage students in a variety of activities based in several categories including: Academic and Professional; Civic Engagement; Diversity and Cultural; Honor Societies; Leisure and Special Interest; Performance and Arts; Recreational Fitness and Wellness; and Religious and Spiritual. Along with professional staff and in collaboration with the entire Student Organizations team the Student Organization Assistants are responsible for supporting organizations within a specified category and facilitating the quality frequency and sustainability of studentled organizations. All Student Organization Assistants are members of the Department of Student Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs.
Responsibilities
Assist 1550 clubs within a specified category addressing needs specific to their clubs purpose and structure Respond to all communication from clubs and organizations within 24 hours of receiving the correspondence Work alongside professional staff to develop plan and implement trainings and meetings for club and organization leadership (including executive members and faculty/staff advisors as needed) Prepare agendas for and facilitate Presidents Meetings once a month Promote the use of and oversee Engage portals ensuring that organizations have an updated profile Maintain an accurate and updated record of club/organization status and contact information Assist clubs within a specified category in rerecognition process each semester Check and process Engage forms as needed Advise and support clubs and organizations in planning events Assist student organizations in upholding all University policies regarding event planning Check 25Live and approve or deny student organization room scheduling requests within a specified category Assist with planning and implementing the Student Involvement Fair in Fall and Spring semesters Advise and support clubs and organizations in recruiting members Assist in coordination of any student organization award/recognition efforts Act as primary liaison between Department of Student Engagement and student organizations Assist in Department of Student Engagement departmentwide events Assist in other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Little to minimal prior experience. Ability to learn support process. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
