Thrive Pet Healthcare SpecialistsHoffman Estates is
looking for a Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Veterinary Technician youll play an important role in pets lives by providing endtoend care for our precious patients. Your lifechanging work will range from the handson care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care advocate for pets and educate clients.
  • With each hospital function assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your states Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options medications and additional treatments.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques follow standard protocols and sustain clean sterile organized treatment areas exam rooms and labs.
  • Be willing to guide mentor and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

  • CVT is highly preferred for this position.
  • Anesthesia experience is required.
  • A strong knowledge base of medical treatments including but not limited to; CRI setup/maintenance NG tubes central line placement glucose curves postsurgical care oxygendependent patients blocked cats etc.
  • A strong knowledge base of infectious diseases and systemic disorders is key.
  • Accurately performs routine inhouse laboratory procedures including the collection preparation and handling of all specimens according to hospital protocols.
  • An uptodate knowledge base of laboratory testing and the necessary samples needed for submission.
  • Ability to articulate professional veterinary verbiage while maintaining a medical record.
  • Exercise a high level of communication with clients and referral partners.
  • Provide compassionate patient care.
  • Understands basic emergency care including CPR.
  • Has motivation and takes initiative to help teammates in any situation.
