This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit which develops Blue Origins multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origins mission of having millions of people living and working in space we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

We are looking for an experienced turbomachinery structural analyst for our Lunar Lander for NASAs Artemis mission. Work will include the complete life cycle of from requirements definition analysis design development assembly verification and operation on the moon!
We will be designing and building clean sheet advanced liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen pumps. This position encompasses performing structural analysis using FEA and classical methods on turbomachinery components such as impellers housings bearings and shafts. You will conduct fatigue and fracture calculations and write detailed structural analysis reports.

You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Aerospace Mechanical Electrical Engineering or related technical subject area
- 5 years of experience in turbomachinery structural analysis
- Experience performing FEA utilizing nonlinear modeling techniques to include nonlinear material and contact methods in ANSYS
- Experience performing modal analysis and frequency prediction.
- Ability to earn trust maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Excellent verbal written and graphical communication skills with ability to directly collaborate with external parties including government and commercial entities
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Willingness to work onsite with occasional travel
Desired:
- M.S. in Aerospace Mechanical Electrical Engineering or related technical subject area
- Experience with cryogenic applications
- Experience in all phases of turbomachinery life cycle in flight vehicle applications
- Experience in engineering analysis/support for disposition of NonConformance (NC) related to turbomachinery components
Compensation Range for:
CA applicants is $117498.00$164497.20;CO applicants is $107707.00$150789.45;WA applicants is $117498.00$164497.20Other site ranges may differ
