Job Description Summary
In support of the Student Affairs Learning Outcomes the Wellness and Recreation team assists with programs resources and services to cultivate students connection to the Chapman community and their investment in their own and others wellbeing. The Graduate Assistant for Wellbeing Programming is an employee in the Department of Student Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs
Responsibilities
Assist with the development and implementation of inperson wellbeing programs related to a variety of wellness topics including but not limited to stress management emotional intelligence physical activity nutrition mindfulness sleep and growth mindset. Assist with the planning and implementation of immersive wellbeing experiences including wellbeing retreats. Assist with promotion of campus wellbeing resources through CU Health and Wellness website. Assist Wellbeing Programming Assistants research plan develop and implement wellbeing programs and campaigns. Assist with program assessment including contributing to the development of an endofyear report. Assist with other duties as determined by supervisor. Attend all scheduled staff meetings and departmental training sessions. Serve as a representative for the Wellness and Recreation team at campus events. Participate in and contribute to Department of Student Engagement programs services experiences and resources as determined by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Enrollment in a Ph.D. or Masters degree program preferably focused on leadership development or higher education and student affairs. Desire to gain knowledge of student development theory and issues relevant to higher education. Ability/willingness to work some nights/weekends. Commitment to teamwork customer service collaboration and providing service to students. Ability to exercise initiative work independently and hold high standards of dependability and accountability. Excellent interpersonal skills working with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels both inside and outside the University. Ability to use tact and diplomacy and to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Strong time management skills including punctuality to arrive to shifts ontime and the ability to prioritize duties when faced with interruptions distractions and fluctuating workload. Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Courteous and confident demeanor when delegating and holding others accountable. Effective written and oral communication skills; strong editing and proofreading skills. Possess high attention to detail. Willingness to work and learn from colleagues and supervisor. Ability to use standard office equipment and various software programs. Minimum of a cumulative 2.5 GPA . Ability to lift objects of 25lbs.
