Position Summary
The University of Miami Desai Sethi Urology Institute at the Miller School of Medicine invites applications for a Biostatistician open rank commensurate with experience open track faculty member anticipated to begin in Spring 2023.
You will be a fulltime biostatistician in the Institute. In this role you will be expected to lead the analytic strategy of projects and participate in and provide statistical support for the academic/ research activities of the Institute including but not limited to:
- Assist members of the Institute and collaborators from Urology and uropathology in the statistical analysis of data collected/databases developed by either performing the pertinent analysis and/or recommending about the best statistical approach for analyzing the data.
- Provide statistical advice for the construction of clinical trials and other clinical research studies within the Institute.
- Develop and assist in the development of grants for scientific studies and provide support for any sample size or statistical analysis
- Devote time to personal research which contributes to the research agenda of the Institute in particular and to the biostatistics and data science fields in general
- Serve on committees to provide statistical support and guide research
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree with specific graduate training in biostatistics bioinformatics data science or related discipline.
- Evidence of highimpact publications.
- Effective oral and written communications.
- Demonstrated ability to lead innovative research projects to successful conclusions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with medical issues in Urology is a plus.
- Experience with supervising an analytic team in a collaborative environment.
