Job Description
The Unit Director of Patient Access Flow and Staffing leads to coordination of patient flow nurse staffing house supervision and patient access for the Benioff Childrens Hospital inpatient areas at Mission Bay and Oakland across all shifts. The Unit Director of Patient Access Flow and Staffing leads and participates in initiatives within the Medical Center related to patient flow and throughput. The incumbent is responsible for the alignment of staffing resources bed availability and patient flow from all areas of Benioff Childrens Hospitals (e.g. Emergency Departments Operating Rooms Direct Admits BCH SF/OAK Integrated Access Center admissions etc..
The Unit Director of Patient Access Flow and Staffing identifies resolves and escalates patient flow bottlenecks and has a consistent and visible presence in the EDs Nursing Units PACU and Operating Rooms collaborating with hospital administrators Case Management Hospitality nursing staff and MDs in the event of high capacity overflow to resolve bottlenecks and improve patient flow.
The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations is required.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $253900 $269400 (Annual Rate).
