Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Plymouth to assist with the appointment of a Building Surveyor on a 5month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 17.81 22.07 per Hour

Summary:

A dynamic and experienced Building Surveyor is required to manage and deliver programmed and responsive maintenance works statutory compliance surveys and support the of the councils Asset Management Plan. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the health safety and statutory compliance across a diverse estate comprising over 2000 assets including office buildings listed buildings schools and public spaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct condition accessibility asbestos and fire surveys across the property estate.
  • Manage reactive and planned maintenance works ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Act as the competent person for buildingrelated statutory compliance such as fire safety or asbestos.
  • Develop and implement technical compliance policies and ensure risk controls are in place.
  • Manage capital and revenue projects up to 500000 annually including tender evaluations and contract oversight.

Qualifications:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Building Surveying or related property subject.
  • Eligibility for or membership of RICS or CIOB (must be obtained within 18 months).
  • NEBOSH certification in a relevant area.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction regulations and health & safety legislation.

Experience:

  • Significant experience in building maintenance condition surveys and statutory compliance.
  • Project management experience in delivering buildingrelated capital works.
  • Proven track record in prioritizing and managing maintenance programmes in a complex estate.
