High Point University is currently seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Interior Design Furnishings and Fashion Merchandising department.
A fulltime assistant/associate professor position to begin August 15 2025.
- Terminal degree in interior design architecture or related discipline
- At least one degree must be in interior design or architecture
- Proficiency in Adobe ACAD Revit or Sketchup
- Over 1 year experience teaching at the college/university level
- Some experience as a practitioner
- Certified or intended certification of NCIDQ
- A scholarship record and trajectory traditional SoTL or creative scholarship
- Be a good communicator collaborator and team player who can thrive in a dynamic fastpaced extraordinary environment
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- PhD in relevant discipline
- LEED AP WELL or similar certification
- Experience with Accreditations such as CIDA and/or NASAD
- Proficiency in Adobe ACAD Revit Enscape and Sketchup
- Practitioner and/or teaching experience in Merchandising
- Teach undergraduate studio and/or lecture courses in design communication design history building technologies and/or studio design.
- Revit ACAD and Adobe Suite capabilities.
- Participate in departmental and university service
- Actively engage in innovative teaching and curriculum development and assessment
- Student advising and progress monitoring
