Job Description
NEEDED: Security Guard
LOCATION: COLUMBUS CIVIC CENTER 400 4th St Columbus GA 31901
HOURS: As Needed/ Event Driven 7 days a week MondaySunday 12:00 AM 12:00 PM
DRESS CODE: Black or brown shoes and black pants
REQUIREMENTS:
- Dependable Transportation
- Dependable and punctual attendance
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patrols assigned areas; reports problems. Inspects and secures offices and buildings at end of day; opens doors at the beginning of the event day and secures all building and stairwell doors.
- Maintains crowd control for special events.
- Assists visitors with general information and directions.
- Operates metal detectors as required.
- Assists employees with automobile problems; may assist with loading and unloading equipment inventory or other packages.
- Raises and lowers flags.
- Provides reports as needed.
- May be assigned as security to performers or promoters for shows.
- Monitors parking lot and performers buses to ensure area is secure.
- Maintains security and crowd control in front of the stage.
- Carries out a continuous effort to improve operations work processes; and works cooperatively and jointly to provide continuous improvement and customerdriven service.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of safety and security procedures for assigned areas and of state and local laws rules and regulations relating to areas of assignment.
- Skills in controlling crowds of people; observation of people and situations.
- Skills in the operation of a twoway radio communication system.
- Skills in oral and written communication.
Educational and Training Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED; one year of related experience; or any combination of education training and experience which provide the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is typically performed while intermittently sitting standing stooping bending crouching or walking.
- Occasionally lifts light and heavy objects climbs ladders and uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
