Job Description
Syracuse University seeks an assistant director to join its field events and domestic recruitment team. As a representative of Syracuse University the incumbent will contribute to identifying attracting and enrolling a talented and diverse student body. In addition the incumbent will join a high functioning team responsible for overseeing officewide domestic recruitment initiatives and events. The assistant director will oversee domestic recruitment travel planning and strategy. They will also manage a significant recruitment territory travel and will be responsible to evaluate and recommend candidates for admission.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute officewide strategy for domestic recruitment travel including college fairs school visits offcampus yield programs group travel and other events as appropriate. Incorporate demographic and educational trend data to recommend decisions for outreach supporting Syracuse Universitys enrollment goals. Manage a robust recruitment territory and travel 68 weeks annually attending school visits college fairs and other recruitment events. Build relationships with counselors CBOs and other entities in assigned territory. Effectively communicate the value of a Syracuse University experience through inperson and virtual presentations interviews phone/email communication professional conferences and other recruitment events. Identify recruit and enroll qualified candidates for admission in concert with Syracuse Universitys enrollment goals. Provide students families and counselors with comprehensive and accurate information about Syracuse University. Read and evaluate applications for admission and recommend admissions decisions for assigned programs in support of University enrollment goals and priorities. Support projects such as specialized recruitment initiatives large admissions events and daily campus visits.
