Job Description

Special Information:

Identity of applicants who become finalists may be releases to the public if the Department deems it necessary. A seasonal Groundskeeper position offers you a great entry level introduction into the State of Montana workforce to start your career. We are looking for an observant individual that can work both independently and as a positiveminded team member on collaborative projects. You will be responsible for prioritizing the cleanliness and safety of Fishing Access Sites State Parks and Wildlife Management Areas in the Great Falls and White Sulphur Springs areas. This position is dynamic and responsibilities will change throughout the season allowing you to acquire knowledge in the safe operation of both hand and power tools landscaping equipment noxious identification and basic carpentry.

Flexibility exists to adapt work schedules to individual needs. Typically this position works a 40hour week MondayFriday from midMay through midSeptember; however accommodations can be made to modify schedules. Job Duties:

The Great Falls/White Sulphur Springs groundskeeper will be responsible for light maintenance duties associated with: Newlan Creek Reservoir Fishing Access Site Martinsdale Reservoir Fishing Access Site Fort Logan Fishing Access Site Smith River State Park Sluice Boxes State Park Smith River Wildlife Management Area and Giant Springs State Park. These weekly duties include:

This position will also work in conjunction with other Region 4 Maintenance staff to assist with noxious control road/parking area maintenance and carpentry projects. It Is Important to recognize that the duties and responsibilities of this position are focused outside and require the groundskeeper in work in inclement weather conditions that may include extreme heat wind and sun. Additionally the groundskeeper is required to collect litter along trail networks which will require hiking several miles into remote areas.

First Aid and CPR certification will be provided.
