The City of Moreno Valley is looking for our next Child Care Instructors
to educate the school youth of Moreno Valley!

Working Hours are from 12PM 6PM Monday through Fridays MUST have education units to be eligible.
***There are PartTime Benefitted and Temporary positions with no offered benefits being filled with this recruitment***

THE POSITION

The Child Care Instructor plays a vital role in planning and executing educational and recreational programs for schoolage children under the general direction of the Child Care Site Supervisor. This grantfunded temporary position involves assisting in daytoday operations of the childcare and development center providing supervision to Child Care Assistants and Aides and ensuring a safe and enriching environment for the children. Working hours are typically Monday to Friday from 1 2PM to 6 PM depending on the site assignment.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for the Child Care Instructor position is a dedicated and compassionate individual with a strong understanding of child development principles and effective techniques for supervising schoolage children. They should have experience in planning and conducting structured activities such as sports games arts & crafts and social activities. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to serve as a positive role model for children. They should be knowledgeable in basic first aid/CPR and capable of handling sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy. The ideal candidate should be available to work during weekdays after school and all day during school vacation periods and be committed to providing highquality customer service. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about child development and enjoys working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS CHILD CARE INSTRUCTOR I
The Child Care Instructor I is the entry level class in this series in which incumbents receive orientation and training and must progress toward Instructor II classification.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS CHILD CARE INSTRUCTOR II
The Child Care Instructor II is the journeylevel class in the series and requires greater experience and additional college level units in Early Childhood Education

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of obtaining the knowledge skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or equivalent and 24 Units of college coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE or Child Development (CD) and a minimum of 6 months paid experience working with children.

Child Development Permit or Childrens Center Permit at the Associates Teacher level issued by California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Certificate in Red Cross Basic first aid/CPR (may be obtained within first six months of employment).

ABOUT THE PARKS & COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT
Develop build and maintain parks trails and recreational facilities in a safe and aesthetically pleasing manner; maintain recreational open space; provide a wide range of programs for the community including athletic leagues classes child care and development and senior activities; library services and literacy programs; schedule use of facilities; plan organize and promote community events; and enforce park rules and regulations and promote safe use of park facilities.
