Job Description

Position Summary
The Department of Psychiatry of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center LSUHSC School of Medicine in New Orleans is seeking candidates for 2 academic faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (nontenure clinical track) to provide adult psychological services as a clinician and provide traumainformed evaluation psychotherapy and assertive case management services to survivors of violent crime. The incumbents will also provide clinical supervision consultation and training to staff and trainees on traumainformed evidencebased interventions. The incumbents will also be involved in program development and provide inservice trainings to other programs. These positions will be housed in the UMC Trauma Recovery Center TRC which is the first of its kind in Louisiana. The TRC is designed to help survivors of violent crime and traumatic injury overcome barriers to accessing mental health treatment health care and legal resources in the acute aftermath of trauma with a focus on reaching underserved communities.
