A Primary Care Advanced Practice Provider is a licensed independent practitioner who provides nursing and medical services to individuals families and groups. An APP diagnoses and manages acute episodic and chronic illnesses while emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. Services may include ordering conducting supervising and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests and prescription of pharmacologic agents and nonpharmacologic therapies.
Half time equivalent 0.5 FTE) Family Medicine APP PCP position will entail 16 clinic hours per week. The expectation for the provider is to have 2.5 patients scheduled per hour. In addition there are expectation independent of the clinic hour calculation and FTE status. These include regular attendance at certain departmental meetings other special departmental activities (e.g. work groups and committees) cell availability at least 8AM5PM Monday through Friday daily electronic inbasket and email monitoring and responsibility for clinical and administrative follow up for a panel of primary care patients including participation in the afterhours coverage rotation.
