Job Description
The University of ChicagosDepartment of Neurologyseeks fulltime behavioral neurologists at any rank to join our growing team within theCenter for Comprehensive Care and Research on Memory Disorders(The Memory Center) and theHealthy Aging & Alzheimers Research Care (HAARC) Center which serves as an aging Alzheimers disease and related dementia (ADRD) research hub dedicated to the discovery of neurobiologic cognitive genetic lifestyle psychosocial and associated factors that promote resilience resistance and health span.
The appointees willjoin a multidisciplinary team represented by neurology psychiatry geriatrics nursing and social primary role for the appointees will be to establish a strong clinical presence and to develop or extend a focus of of medical students residents and fellows will be expected as will participation in clinical trials related to Alzheimers disease and related dementias (ADRD).These positions may require some ambulatory practice at UChicago Medicine offsite rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
Scholarship and research activities may overlap with and enhance one or more areas of strength within the Biological Sciences Division (BSD) including neurobiology computational neuroscience genetics neuroimaging and immunology. As such the appointees may collaborate closely with theNeuroscience Institute theInstitute for Population and Precision Health theAging Research Programwithin the Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine theCenter for Neurocognitive Outcomes Improvement Research theDepartment of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience and numerous other programs centers institutes and departments.
Prior to the start of employment qualified applicants must: 1 have a medical doctorate or equivalent 2 hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois 3 be Board certified or eligible in Neurology and4 have completed a least one year of postdoctoral trainingin behavioral neurology/cognitive disorders.
