The primary mission of Cornell Universitys Biomedical Engineering department (BME) is to educate students to understand the human body as an integrated system through quantitative engineering analysis and to use that understanding to design better therapeutic strategies devices and diagnostics. A mission of nearly equal importance is to serve society by conducting research that develops quantitative linkages across scales in the human body and uses that development to build new tools to improve human health.

What You Will Do

This position provides technical support to the BME undergraduate laboratories.

Responsibilities of this position include:

Reporting to the Director of Administration and working closely with BME staff and faculty the Teaching Support Specialist staff member will provide support to several critical functions in the BME Instructional Lab. This can include but not be limited to equipment maintenance and training ordering supplies and maintaining the chemical inventory; ensuring the safe operation of the teaching labs by establishing standard operating procedures; setting up and putting away lab experiments for classes; working with student class groups to support their projects; training students and stakeholders on equipment needed for classes.
