Location: Toronto Canada 12month FTC)

As a Developer you will be part of a team of specialists who provide effective and efficient trust services solutions to our client businesses. Among other things you will be helping Communication Services in the department in the performance of their mandates.
A role you will love
This position will be reporting directly to the Software Development Team Leader with a purpose of delivering high quality client communications applications. You will be partaking in the development and delivery of high quality robust programs in adherence to established standards and procedures. A keen eye for details strong timemanagement problem solving communication and prioritization skills are integral for this position. In particular the Developer will:
- Design and code quality programs that works with various data sources using Perl Quadient Inspire and interacting with SQL Server
- Complete all deliverables on schedule and within estimated time limits
- Learn and provide support for all internal systems from troubleshooting maintenance and system upgrades to provide high availability of business systems.
- Adherence to departmental and company standards processes and procedures.
- Perform review on the solution design architecture and code of peer developers to maintain quality and standards.
- Facilitate training and knowledge transfer between team members to enhance deliver of overall objectives.
- Identify and support business innovation initiatives such as process improvement onboarding new technologies improvements to existing technologies minimizing technical debt to ensure optimal operational efficiency.

Required:
- Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines.
- A minimum of 3 year programming experience in a professional environment working with objectoriented languages (e.g. Java C# VB Python Perl) and SQL databases (MS SQL MySQL Oracle); preference for experience with Perl and MS SQL in a Windows environment.
- Experience working with version control systems such as Git TFVC etc.
- Knowledge of various file formats and data standards (Flat XML HTML JSON YAML multi record structures etc.
- Strong knowledge of OODP and desire to deliver highly efficient and maintainable applications.
- Curious mindset with a strong desire to learn and staying up to date with the latest technologies.
- Strong problemsolving skills able to identify root cause and provide solutions on critical problems.
- Selfmotivated; ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to details and time management skills and ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks

Qualifications

- 5 years of experience in software development.
