Job Description

Title: Eviction Diversion Coordinator
Supervisor: Project Director Landlord Housing Partnership and Eviction Diversion
Salary Range: $50000 to $70000
Hours of Work: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MF
Location of Work: 3350 Commercial Drive Anchorage AK 99501

Grant funded: This position is funded through grant programs and ongoing employment will be contingent upon subsequent grants to maintain the program(s).

Position Overview: The Eviction Diversion Coordinator will primarily coordinate and administer the work of the Eviction Diversion program. This position is responsible for coordinating payments for past due rental assistance from partner agencies which includes processing referral information gathering documentation from landlords and tenants processing payments and supporting community providers involved in United Ways housing initiatives. This position will also support United Ways Landlord Housing Partnership and Home for Good project as needed. This position is responsible for supporting landlords case management teams and other community providers involved in United Ways housing initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Process referrals to the Eviction Diversion program including calling and collecting documentation from tenants and landlords.
  • Determine eligibility and process assistance payments.
  • Provide referrals to related community resources.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies that provide services to individuals and families at risk of homelessness.
  • Conduct outreach to landlords landlord groups and/or associations present information about the program(s) and build landlord partnerships.
  • Support coordination and communication among case management providers including topics of landlord relationships housing retention and case conferencing. Provide targeted guidance to ensure that housing and services adhere to evidencebased best practices and coordinate additional technical assistance where needed.
  • Support United Ways other housing programs including Landlord Housing Partnership and Home for Good.
  • Provide support for data quality performance management and sustainability.
  • Participate in regular project governance meetings for housing programs and initiatives.

  • As a frontline ambassador for United Way of Anchorage and an individual who will interact with a variety of donors volunteers and community partners maintain current awareness of program priorities strategic plan goals recent accomplishments and laudable program milestones.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4 years of work experience or a bachelors degree in social services public health or related field including a minimum of 2 years of experience working with persons who have complex life circumstances such as: mental health conditions and other disabilities complex trauma; substance use issues; and homelessness.
  • Experience interacting with social service teams teaching adult learners or prior experience with multiple disciplines and cultures is desired.
  • Knowledge of available community resources in Anchorage especially resources that can benefit people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
