As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic CNS Healthcares mission is to serve the people of our communities.
The School Based Clinician provides mental health services to students and their families eligible to receive services. These services include screening assessment and treatment of identified students in the school based outpatient setting or community. The School Based Clinician provides guidance support and/or referrals to help students increase their overall level of functioning in emotional health academic family life and involvement in their community.
Please note:This position does provide services in a schoolbased setting.
Compensation Range:
The starting pay for this position is $47600 $56000 for limited licensed candidates and $51850 $61000 annual salary for fully licensed candidates and is based on nondiscriminatory factors such as skills and experience.

- Perform screening comprehensive assessments classroom observation diagnosis and evaluation of students served as clinically appropriate.
- Provide individual therapy family therapy group therapy case management services in alignment with the individual plan of service (IPOS) utilizing evidencebased practices and a traumainformed approach.
- Consult with parents teachers and other school personnel to determine causes of problems such as truancy and misbehavior and to assist with problemsolving and implementing solutions.
- Participate school activities and provide workshops educational activities or inservice staff trainings to increase understanding of child mental health disorder
- Focuses on improving therapeutic supports and functional skills in the areas of education employment social supports wellness selfmanagement and prevent outofhome placement.
- Provide crisis intervention when needed. Completion of lethality risk assessments as indicated (e.g. suicide/homicide/potential for violence/substance use) with dispositions and recommendations included in IPOS.
- May collaborate with the case holders and school personnel to support personcentered planning with assigned person served to identify needs and interventions.
- Support the coordination of care for assigned cases by collaborating with internal and external providers.
- Responsible for managing assigned caseload including ensuring that all individual documentation and authorizations are uptodate and following admission transition and discharge procedures housed in CNS Electronic Health Record.
- Perform or facilitate the intake of new persons served as assigned.
- Participate in team meetings agency focus groups work groups and committees as assigned.
- Support the development of agency staff and community partners by providing training as assigned.
- May participate in internal and external presentations to provide education about school based services.
- May provide transportation for persons served.
- Meet direct service productivity and documentation standards per agency and program expectations.
- Maintain compliance with quality care initiatives including Meaningful Use (MU) Medicare Merit Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) requirements.
- Ensure that the CNS Healthcare standards of service are applied to interactions with individuals served guests and staff.
- Assume responsibility for professional growth by current reading and attendance at educational programs and conferences.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy AND
- State licensure: LimitedLicensed Masters Social Worker (LLMSW) Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) LimitedLicensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) LimitedLicensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LLMFT) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Temporary LimitedLicense Psychologist (TLLP) LimitedLicensed Psychologist (LLP) OR Licensed Psychologist (LP)
- Child Mental Health Professional:
- Possess or obtain Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) designation within 90 days of hire and then maintain throughout employment.
- At least 1 year of experience in the examination evaluation and treatment of minors and their families.
- Proficient with computers Microsoft office products (including Outlook Word and Excel) and electronic health records (EHRs)

- Ability to work closely with persons with mental or physical limitations
- Ability to communicate effectively work collaboratively and build positive working relationships

Preferred
- Intellectual and Developmental Disability Professional:
- Possess or obtain Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) designation within 90 days of hire and then maintain throughout employment.
- At least 1 year of experience involving the treatment of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities can include internship or field placement experience.
- Prior experience working with all age groups including children; solution focused brief therapy; substance use and cooccurring disorders treatment; stages of change and/or motivational interviewing.
- Experience in the community mental health setting.
- 1 year of clinical experience in individual and group psychotherapy under clinical supervision.
- 1 year of master level experience in the examination evaluation and evaluation of children with severe emotional disturbances.
