Job Description

Wayfair seeks a strategic datadriven Head of Curated Merchandising to lead a highperforming team in shaping a toptier merchandising experience for the UK and Ireland. This role drives product selection presentation and promotions to align with market trends customer preferences and business goals across multiple channels.

With full decisionmaking authority youll define and execute merchandising strategies translating highlevel objectives into actionable plans while proactively addressing operational challenges.

As a highimpact leader youll oversee curated assortments onsite merchandising and collaboration with Category Management Brand & Content Strategy and Performance Marketing. This role balances strategic vision with handson to solve complex challenges.

The EU Marketing Team drives initiatives across Performance Marketing Onsite Marketing CRM & Email Social Media Brand & Content Strategy and Promotional Planning. We develop datadriven strategies to enhance engagement boost conversion and accelerate Wayfairs growth across European markets.

As a collaborative customerfocused team we craft crosschannel strategies that seamlessly integrate promotional functional and brand messaging. Partnering with Commercial Product and Creative teams we refine customer touchpoints optimize marketing efficiency and drive measurable results.

With a strong focus on datadriven decisionmaking and localized we continuously adapt to evolving customer needs while aligning with Wayfairs global marketing vision.

Key Responsibilities

Assortment Strategy & Planning:

  • Define and implement a merchandising strategy detailing how why and when the team will deliver on key business and marketing goals.
  • Own the decisionmaking process for determining the most effective plan ensuring curated merchandising aligns with commercial and marketing priorities.
  • Curate marketing and channelfocused product assortments ensuring market relevance commercial success and customer alignment.
  • Solve tactical and operational problems that arise when executing curated merchandising strategies.
  • Work crossfunctionally with Category Management teams to identify growth opportunities refine pricing strategies and integrate sales performance insights into strategic planning.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead coach and develop a team of merchandising professionals ensuring they are equipped to execute complex merchandising strategies autonomously.
  • Balance direct and people leadership ensuring team members are empowered to own and deliver on key initiatives.
  • Establish performance goals and provide ongoing mentorship to drive team success while supporting individual career development.

Market Analysis & Trend Forecasting:

  • Conduct indepth market research identifying shifts in industry trends customer behavior and competitive activity.
  • Leverage complex data sets to drive decisionmaking applying insights to optimize curated assortments and enhance category performance.
  • Anticipate secondorder impacts and proactively adjust merchandising strategies to stay ahead of market demands.

CrossFunctional Collaboration & Planning:

  • Develop an plan that bridges the gap between strategy and implementation ensuring merchandising initiatives are aligned with Brand Channel Marketing and Category Management.
  • Act as the key merchandising stakeholder in seasonal GTM strategies ensuring product selections align with business objectives competitive insights and consumer trends.
  • Collaborate with the Campaign & Content Strategy team to translate strategic merchandising concepts into fully realized marketing campaigns content plans and creative executions.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Strategy team in the of the Annual Brand & Promotional Calendar ensuring Wayfairs Share of Voice strategy effectively prioritizes key product categories that drive business impact.
  • Operate autonomously making informed decisions on merchandising without the need for routine oversight from senior management.

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and track key performance metrics assessing the effectiveness of merchandising strategies and campaign impact.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions improving merchandising and business performance.
  • Lead postmortem analyses on major campaigns extracting learnings and optimizing future merchandising strategies.

Customer Experience & Merchandising Optimization:

  • Ensure product selections are strategically positioned to enhance the customer shopping experience and drive engagement.
  • Analyze customer feedback and behavior adjusting merchandising to reflect evolving consumer preferences.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in ecommerce retail merchandising or visual merchandising with a strong focus on curation and campaign .
  • Proven track record of decisionmaking ownership with the ability to autonomously define strategies solve operational challenges and drive business outcomes.
  • Fluent in English

  • Strong analytical skills leveraging large data sets and performance tools (Excel GBQ Looker) to guide strategy.
