Job Description

Physical Therapist (P.T. Inpatient

PRN

Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue Ft. Worth TX 76104

Physical Therapy department

Work hours: PRN: On an as needed basis coverage between MondayFriday 8AM5PM with some weekends and holidays.

  • Neurotrauma program certified

Heres What You Need

Bachelors degree completion of a Physical Therapist program required.

Acute care experience preferred but New Grads are welcome!

PT Physical Therapist Texas Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required

BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Problemsolving ability Ability to teach others and Time management skills.

Good interpersonal and customer service skills Basic leadership skills

Staff Certifications:

  • Geriatric Clinical Specialists (ABPTS)
  • Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (ABPTS)
  • Wound Management Clinical Specialist (ABPTS)
  • Certified lymphedema therapists
  • Certified hand therapists

What You Will Do

Performs ageappropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.

Performs treatment procedures/techniques that are within the scope of the professional license.

Educates patient and family through instruction demonstration and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan safety issues home programs/selfmanagement and assistive equipment.

Initiates therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition.

Attends and/or leads hospital department and community meetings / educational inservices.

Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration
