Description

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach CS/CIS/ENGR courses up to 12 units per semester
• Participate in mentoring and academic advising of undergraduate students
• Participate in department and university affairs
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair
• Integrate Christian faith in all aspects of instruction.

Qualifications

• An earned Ph.D. in computer science computer engineering electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
• A commitment to teaching excellence in undergraduate programs
• Desire to be available on campus to mentor undergraduate students in their course work and research
• A commitment to teaching excellence in an undergraduate liberal arts program.
• A demonstrated vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Azusa Pacific University (Faculty members are required to sign a Statement of Faith available at and to adhere to the policies outlined in the Faculty Handbook.

Experience

• Evidence of teaching excellence is desired
• Prior experience mentoring undergraduate students in technical projects and research desired
• Prior experience in sociallyresponsible and meaningful projects desired
• Prior experience in integration of faith with the discipline is preferred

Workload

• Teaching load of 24 units per academic year is required. The faculty will be working under the general direction of the Chair of the Department Computer Science Engineering Mathematics Physics and Statistics. Research release and startup package may be available.

Hire Date

• Open until filled (anticipated start date August 16 2025.

Compensation

• $68640 to $125460 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications experience and internal equity. In addition to compensation APU offers a competitivebenefits package.

Compensation will be based on experience rank and qualifications.
