Were seeking a Project Manager to lead fiber characterization projects in the telecommunications sector. This role requires a solid baseline understanding of fiber testing methodologies and the ability to interpret reported resultsincluding CD PMD OTDR OLTS and ORL. The PM will work closely with splicing crews to resolve any failed events and ensure final network integrity. This individual will be responsible for managing endtoend project executionon time within budget and to highquality standards.
Oversee fiber characterization projects including OTDR OLTS ORL CD and PMD testing ensuring accurate and data collection.
Interpret test results to identify pass/fail events and coordinate with splice crews to correct identified issues.
Manage the full project lifecycle: planning issue resolution reporting and closeout.
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams field techs and clientside transport engineering groups.
Ensure all test data results and field documentation are accurately recorded and submitted on time.
Track equipment usage inventory and ensure proper handling and return of test gear.
Coordinate badging and access requirements for field technicians including tech submittal forms and headshots.
Lead status meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress milestones and risks.
Collaborate with permitting and engineering teams to support related cutovers splicing and TCP (traffic control) activities.
Support the sourcing and onboarding of subcontractors or techs for specialized tasks like splicing or traffic control.
Maintain compliance with industry standards safety practices and local permitting regulations.
Prepare summary reports for Transport Engineering and other stakeholders clearly articulating fiber health and next steps.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of aerial makeready engineering pole loading and underground civil construction processes.
Proven experience managing telecommunications engineering and construction projects including fiber optic infrastructure and OSP/ISP deployments.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g. MS Project Primavera or similar).
Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage teams and liaise with clients.
Strong problemsolving abilities and a resultsoriented mindset.
Availability to travel as needed for project oversight and client engagement.
Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management Telecommunications or a
related field is preferred but not required.
PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
