Job Description

Handsonwork in the laboratory to culture various microorganisms. Ourteam plays a crucial role in delivering essential biological materials tosupport product launches in the Molecular and Near Patient Care customer areas. The BioSpecimen Acquisition and Management function is a centralizedservice function which supports the acquisition characterization andmanagement of biological materials as well as build of select panels forclinical research and cultivation and characterization of variousMicroorganisms and Mammalian cell lines.
Responsibilities:
- Masters/Bachelors in Molecular BiologyCellular Biology or Microbiology with 5/7 years relevant industry experience.
- Handsonwork in the laboratory to culture various microorganisms is required.
- Experienceculturing within an anaerobic chamber preferred
- Experienceperforming bacterial enumeration MPN and identification with MALDITOF.Familiarity with microbial taxonomy and identification.
- Experiencewith ddPCR is a plus.
- Mustbe able to manually manipulate samples (plating pipetting labeling andvialing) on a routine basis.
- Mustbe able to work in a laboratory environment on a daily basis under BSL2laboratory conditions. May work a variety of infectious human material (HxVpathogenic bacteria engineered material etc) and sample types (blood serumurine stool etc).
