Peace Collaborative Services (PCS) is a regional organization providing specialized educational support services across six Northwestern Alberta school jurisdictions. Grande Prairie Public School Division employs PCS staff on behalf of the jurisdictions in the region.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Peace Collaborative Services is seeking a physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary school team. As the ideal candidate you are energetic and enjoy working with children from Preschool through Grade 12. You will work collaboratively to integrate student programming with other disciplines such as SpeechLanguage Therapy Occupational Therapy and Psychology.
BEING PART OF OUR DYNAMIC TEAM YOU WILL:
- Help make a difference Provide individual child services:
- Develop intervention programs conduct periodic reassessment/evaluation of individual programs and recommend adjustments as needed
- Provide direct treatment intervention to specific children
- Instruct teachers assistants volunteers and parents in occupational therapy intervention techniques
- Participate in case conferences parent interviews medical consultations and clinic programming
- Research and provide consultation regarding adaptive equipment and technical aids
- Take a leadership role Oversee program services:
- Supervise paraprofessional staff and provide programming input for Educational Assistants
- Provide input into the direction and requirements of the Physiotherapy program in various jurisdictions
- Develop implement and evaluate a quality assurance program
- Provide input into annual operating and capital equipment budgets
- Provide input into the development and implementation of group programs
- Attend staff department and other meetings as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- You work well independently and can show initiative
- You are selfmotivated and an enthusiastic learner with excellent problem solving skills
- Must be registered or eligible to be registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
- Valid drivers license (Travel required)
- Provide Police Information Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check
- Pediatric experience is an asset
