The Dean of the College of Architecture Visual Arts Design is the chief academic officer and the administrative head of the school. The Dean holds academic rank and is charged with the administration academic leadership and supervision of the operation of the school through its instructional programs research publications and service activities. This administrator must be a visionary who has the demonstrated ability and entrepreneurial mindset to execute a strategic plan. The Dean reports directly to the Provost/Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and serves on the Provosts Council.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include 1 A demonstrated mature Christian faith aligned with CBUs foundation as a Christian institution committed to the Great Commission 2 demonstrated experience and knowledge of integrating Christian faith with the theory and practice of art design or creativity 3 an earned terminal degree from an accredited institution in a field related to the work of CAVAD 4 progressive administrative experience in higher education 5 knowledge of accreditation bodies 6 an outstanding record of leadership and service to the community and 7 an outstanding record of academic activities including university teaching research retention fiscal management strategic planning and enthusiasm and the ability to contribute to substantial development and fundraising efforts. The successful candidate is expected to assume duties July 1 2024.
