Position Title: Occupational Therapist

Overview:
The Occupational Therapist addresses the physical cognitive psychosocial and sensory components of performance that have an adverse effect on the educational performance of students. An OT focuses on academics play and leisure social participation selfcare skills and transition/work skills.
Job Duties
- Conduct Occupational Therapy screenings according to state and federal professional standards and proceduresComplete and write comprehensive evaluation according to established state and federal professional standards and procedures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team conferences and planning sessions in order to meet the continuing needs of identified students or those at risk.
- Collaborate with Intervention Assistance Team members regarding age appropriate intervention strategies
- Develop Individualized Education Programs for identified students.
- Provide Occupational Therapy services using a variety of service delivery models within a collaborative team to address physical cognitive psychosocial and sensory components of performance
- Complete documentation through progress notes and quarterly reports that report student progress on IEP goals and objectives.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and parents including parent/teacher conferences to ensure a unified approach to schoolrelated needs.
- Provide training as needed to teachers parents instructor assistants and other related service personnel to ensure their effective contribution to a childs Individualized Education Program.
- Supervise Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant if indicated.
- Serve on various district school or Occupational Therapy staff committees.
- Other duties as assigned

- Work collaboratively with school teams and outside agencies.
- Provide coaching training and development to instructors served on an ongoing basis
- Model proper work habits and skills
- Assure ongoing positive relationships between individuals served in the community
- Guide instructors on how to use data to support students
- Foster a teamwork environment
- Maintain open communication with students staff and families
- Implement and comply with all of CPS organizational policies and procedures
- Maintain high level of ethical and confidentiality of information about the student
- Attend and participate in student meetings
- Follow work schedule and CPS calendar
- Maintain high ethical standards; serve as a cooperative and productive team member within assigned team
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Department of Student Services Manager
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Occupational Therapy License issued by the State of Ohio Occupational Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board
- Valid Ohio School Physical Therapist Teacher License
