Job Description
Job Title: GEO2 Geologist 2
Location: Vincent AL (Onsite)

Skills and Responsibilities
4Year degree in related field or 3 10 years of related experience
Experience in the install groundwater and surface water instrumentation systems in and around dams levees and CCR sites for the collection of real time data collection/performance monitoring
o Instrumentation and maintenance will include inclinometers water quality equipment (pH ORP DO turbidity conductivity) portable solar battery charging stations and cellular and satellite communication systems
Experience in executing field investigations utilizing various drilling methods and resources
Experience with soil and rock logging monitoring well construction groundwater monitoring and field data reporting
4. Experience in providing technical and safety oversight to drilling contractor and consultants
Special Notes
Typical Worker/Geologist work week is 4 10 hour days (Monday Thursday) with some 10 day shifts.
Extensive travel throughout the southeastern United States mainly Georgia Alabama and Mississippi.
Agency will be required to provide the worker with a vehicle for transportation (Ford F250 4X4 or similar).
The monthly rental of this vehicle will be paid by the Agency and reimburse by Southern Company with no added markup paid to the Agency. The Worker / Agency will be reimbursed for all fuel cost associated with the rental of a vehicle/truck. The Worker / Agency will be reimbursed for lodging and meals associated with work related travel and overnight stays.
