The candidate will be assigned to the OSU College of Medicine Cherokee Nation (OSUCOMCN) Tahlequah OK Campus. Physical Requirements:

Job Summary:
The duties of a nontenure track AssistantProfessor primarily include teaching/lecturing responsibilities in conjunctionwith University service/outreach. Research/scholarship opportunitiesfor this role may include but is not limited to mentoring medical andgraduate students publishing peerreviewed articles and being an activemember in their professional society.
The primary criterion for selection is demonstratedexcellence in teaching with a strong emphasis on fostering student success.This position focuses on topics within Biomedical Sciences including but notlimited to Biochemistry Immunology Microbiology Virology Mycology andParasitology. While clinical experience is not required the course content isdesigned with a clinical orientation targeting Medical Students and graduatestudents (PhD and MSc) in the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program
The candidate will be permitted to spendapproximately 30 of their time at OSUCenter for Health Sciences in Tulsa OKfor graduate student engagement and/or minimal research efforts.
Responsibilities:
Teaching:
Effectively instruct/teach one or more subjects within the osteopathic medical school and the biomedical sciences graduate curriculum. This will include preparing and delivering upto date accurate content in the form of classroom lectures problembased learning sessions case scenarios and online modules.
Teach medical students as part of their Year 1 curriculum.
Teach graduate courses in microbiology and biochemistry and other graduate courses as needed.
Engage in curriculum planning and development of learning units related to Biomedical Sciences.
Actively engage in the assessment of student learning.
Participate in course management and administration; serve as course cocoordinator as required.
Service:
Faculty advisement for osteopathic medical students and graduate students.
Provide service supporting the departments administrative educational and scholarly missions.
Participate in University faculty committees.
Research (optional)
Research/scholarship may include but is notlimited to:
Conducting independent (educational) research via intramural and extramural grant funding.
Publishing in peerreviewed journals.
Active participation in professional society conference presentations
Environmental Hazard:

Position Qualifications:
Required:
Ph.D Microbiology Biochemistry or in a related field with specialized training or equivalentexperience.
Previous experience teaching effectively in medical education.
Valid Oklahoma Drivers License
