Job Description

Program Administration Intern

Lighthouse Mission Ministries is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to providing emergency shelter support and resources to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in our community. We are seeking a motivated Student Intern to join our Program Administration Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain handson experience in program coordination and administration across multiple departments. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Working directly with the Program Administrator and Program Leadership the Program Administration Intern will be involved in the internal support and development of Lighthouse Mission programs and procedures.


Schedule: To be individually determined upon interns availability however will be an expected minimum of 10 hours per week (or variable for credit) during Spring Quarter 2025.

Internship Shadowing and Task Descriptions:

  • Assist with the creation and upkeep of program procedures to include attending relevant meetings researching current best practices and document creation and editing
  • Spend time on program sites assisting with the maintenance and troubleshooting of internal processes.
  • Assist in the upkeep of program data entry and statistics
  • Participate in the development of internal staff training
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of program events such as graduations holiday gatherings and staff care events.
  • Attend program department meetings as schedule allows
  • Specific tasks of the internship can be adapted to meet student needs and areas of interest.

Organizational Relationships: Intern will be supervised by the Program Administrator. Intern will spend time alongside staff and other volunteers in LMMs program departments.


Qualifications: This internship opportunity is open to any current college/university student seeking experience within their field of study and/or for academic credit hours (Speak with your University Department/College for qualification. Preference for candidates with an area of study and/or personal passion for social services. The internship is not an offer of employment either during the course of the internship or a promise of employment afterward. In recognition of the interns efforts and costs LMM is pleased to offer a $1000 stipend payment paid in a lump sum following the successful completion of the internship. Interns in accordance with LMM policies may be subject to a prevolunteer background check.
